I’m an award-winning film editor with over 30 years of experience in television and cinema documentaries.

I’ve always loved the collaborative nature of film making and have worked with with some great directors.

I’ve edited ten films with Kim Longinotto, six with Sean McAllister,

worked with Adam Curtis, Marc Isaacs, Angus Macqueen Leo Regan, and Aliona Van der Horst.

The films have won prizes at festivals all over the world including one at Cannes,

three at Sundance and three at IDFA.

I have won two RTS editing awards and been BAFTA nominated twice .

I’ve worked as edit consultant on many award-winning documentaries, sat on festival juries

and taken part in roughcut workshops and given masterclasses all around the world.

I’m a member of Rough Cut Services, a select group of internationally acclaimed editors

who consult on and support international documentaries.

I think the editor, Ollie Huddleston, is probably the most important person I need to work with. His sense of rhythm and structure determines how the film will end up. The important thing is that the editor is not there when we shoot. I am often full of emotions about the situations and it is obvious to me how they should be read. I see them through my personal experience. But the editor doesn’t and is able to fix some things that were muddled because of my presumptions. He can be much more detached and clinical and I always respect his decisions. Usually I do what my editor says.
